Every review here is from a family who has taken a puppy home from us. We have not edited them, and we have not left out the ones that gently told us where we could do better.

Worth every mile of the drive
We drove four hours each way and would do it again tomorrow. Chris met us outside, let Pearl come to us in her own time, and walked us through his feeding and health record before any money changed hands. No rush, no sales pitch. She is exactly the dog they told us she would be.
She is exactly who they said she would be
I was nervous about buying a puppy I had only seen in photos, so I asked a lot of questions. Every answer was patient and specific. They described Bonnie as quiet, watchful and a little stubborn, and that is precisely the dog living in my house. No exaggeration anywhere.
Our children's first dog, and the right one
We wanted a first dog who could handle two loud kids without getting overwhelmed. Bethany asked so many questions about our home life before she even suggested Angus, and it shows. He is unbothered by absolutely everything and has become the calm centre of the house.
Three girls, one very patient puppy
Daisy came home to a house with three daughters and endless noise. She was already used to children being around, which I think is the only reason the first week went as smoothly as it did. She now sleeps in a different bed every night depending on who asked first.
Still sending them photos two years on
Duke is two now and I still get a reply within the day whenever I message with a question. They wanted to know how he settled, how he was with the vet, how his ears were doing. That kind of follow-up is not normal and it should be.
She settled in within a week
I braced myself for a month of chaos and got about four days of it. Nothing came home already used to being handled, already used to household noise, and already sleeping in a crate. The familiar blanket they sent with her made the first two nights genuinely easy.
Health records were spotless
Our vet went through the paperwork line by line at Hamish's first visit and said it was the most complete record she had seen from a small breeder. Vaccinations, deworming dates, weights, all of it written down. We have not had a single health issue since. Effie joined a year later.
Lovely puppy, paperwork took a few days
Wallace is everything we hoped for and the second time round we did not hesitate. Only note is that the registration paperwork followed on a few days after pickup rather than coming with him, which meant a couple of chasing emails. Minor, but worth knowing.
Calm, gentle and remarkably well mannered
Cleo was already responding to her name and walking on a loose lead at ten weeks. She is affectionate without being needy and has never once been destructive. Whatever they do in those first weeks, it works.
A long wait, but the right puppy
We were on their list for close to five months. That is a long time when everyone is excited, and it is the reason this is four stars rather than five. But Gus was worth it, and honestly we would rather wait than have them rush a litter.
Our vet asked who the breeder was
Heather's first check-up ended with our vet asking where we got her, because her weight, coat and temperament were all exactly where they should be. She is the third dog I have raised and by far the easiest start I have had. Tavish came from the following spring's litter and the two of them have been inseparable since.
We went back for a second, which says it all
Rabbie settled so easily that eighteen months later we asked about a sister for him. Bethany talked us through how to introduce them properly instead of just taking the sale. Morag walked in like she had always lived here.
They talked us out of the wrong puppy
We had our hearts set on one particular pup, and Bethany gently explained he needed far more activity than two people in small-flat jobs could give him. She suggested Iona instead. She was right and we were wrong, and she could easily have just taken the money. Struan joined us the following year.
He picked me, honestly
I went to meet two puppies and Blair climbed straight into my lap and fell asleep there. Chris laughed and said that usually settles it. He has not moved much since. Best decision I have made in years.
Wonderful dog, we wanted more photo updates
Poppy is everything we hoped for. The one thing we would change is the six weeks between reserving her and bringing her home. We would have loved a photo every week or so rather than only when we asked. Everything else was faultless.
They answered questions for weeks before we committed
I emailed for nearly a month before I was ready to say yes. Not once did I feel rushed or handled. They sent temperament notes, explained honestly what a Westie is like to live with including the parts people leave out, and let me get there in my own time.
Ears, teeth, joints — they explained all of it
I had no idea Westies need their ears checked as often as they do, or how careful you have to be with stairs while the joints are still forming. All of it was in the booklet that came home with Ivy, and Bethany went through it with me in person as well.
The comfort blanket idea made all the difference
Such a small thing, but sending Bruno home with a blanket that smelled of his litter meant he barely cried on the first night. He is a whole eighteen pounds of lap dog now and I cannot picture the house without him.
The calmest dog at the park
Fern is unshakeable. Bicycles, toddlers, other dogs barking in her face — nothing rattles her. Three separate people at our dog park have asked who the breeder was, which tells you more than I can.
No pressure, no sales talk, just honesty
They were upfront about what the grooming costs over a year, upfront that Copper would try to chew just about anything for his first six months, and upfront that they would take him back at any point rather than see him rehomed badly. That last part is what sold me.
Good with our older dog from day one
Introducing a puppy to a nine-year-old dog is where this usually goes wrong. Chris walked us through doing it slowly and it went better than we dared hope. Four rather than five only because the collection day ran nearly two hours behind and we had a long drive ahead.
Patient breeders, honest about timing
Willa came home two weeks later than we first hoped because she was not quite ready, and they would not be talked round on it. Frustrating at the time, obviously the right call in hindsight. Four stars only because the waiting was hard on the children.
Worth the drive, though it was a long one
Nine hours in the car with a new puppy is not something I would rush to repeat, and I would have paid for a transport option if one had been offered. Tilly herself has been faultless — healthy, sweet natured, easy to train. Everything about the puppy was five stars.
