Westie Puppies for Home

Home / Adoption Process

How adoption works

A gentle path to bringing home your Westie

No pressure, no rush — just a thoughtful process designed to help the right puppy meet the right family. Here is exactly what to expect, step by step.

1

Step one

Send your inquiry

It all begins with a simple message. Tell us a little about your home, your family, and the kind of companion you’re hoping for. There’s no commitment — just the first hello.

2

Step two

A warm conversation

We’ll reply personally and chat about life with a Westie — the joys and the realities. It’s a two-way conversation, and your questions are always welcome.

3

Step three

Finding your match

Using what we’ve learned about your home and what we know about each puppy’s temperament, we’ll guide you toward the little one whose personality truly fits.

4

Step four

Preparing together

As your puppy finishes growing and weaning, we’ll help you get ready — what to buy, how to puppy-proof, and how to make those first days calm and reassuring.

5

Step five

Bringing your puppy home

The big day. Your Westie comes home with a familiar blanket, a feeding guide, and health records — and you come home with our number for any question, any time.

Before you reach out

Is now the right time?

A few gentle things to consider — not hurdles, just signs of a home ready to welcome a devoted little terrier.

Time to give

Westies love company. A home where someone is around for much of the day helps a puppy settle and thrive.

Room to play

Daily walks and a little play keep this active terrier happy. A secure space to explore is a lovely bonus.

A patient heart

Puppies learn day by day. A little patience with house habits and training goes a very long way.

Frequently asked questions

The questions families ask us most. Don’t see yours? Just ask — we’re happy to help.

A secure outdoor space is ideal, but it isn’t the only thing that matters. Westies are adaptable little terriers who do well in apartments and houses alike, as long as they get daily walks, play, and plenty of companionship.

Generally, yes. West Highland White Terriers are friendly, confident, and devoted, which makes them wonderful family companions. With gentle introductions and supervision, they typically get along well with respectful children and other pets.

Westies are low-shedding, but their signature white coat does need regular brushing and occasional trimming to stay healthy and tidy. We share a simple grooming routine with every family, and you’ll find more tips on our blog.

It varies. Sometimes a puppy is ready to go home soon; other times you may wait for the right match or an upcoming litter. We never rush a puppy out before they’re ready, and we’ll always be honest about timing.

It’s an inquiry, never a purchase. Sending a message simply opens a friendly conversation so we can learn about your home and help you decide whether one of our puppies is the right fit. There’s no obligation at any point.

Plenty. We check in after your puppy settles, and we stay reachable for the life of your dog with feeding, training, and care advice. Welcoming one of our Westies makes you part of our extended family.
